Rosenberger to be inducted as fellow of AANP

Kelly D. Rosenberger, DNP ’12, APRN, CNM, WHNP-BC, clinical assistant professor and director of the Rockford campus, has been selected as one of 64 nurse practitioner leaders nationwide for induction as a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2018.
Rosenberger will be honored at a ceremony on Thursday, June 28, at the AANP 2018 National Conference at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
“Since becoming a women’s health nurse practitioner [in 1996], I’ve been passionate about advancing evidence-based nurse practitioner practice to improve the health of underserved, uninsured and vulnerable populations,” she says. “I have been committed to promoting the nurse practitioner role and individual nurse practitioner success.”
At the Rockford campus, Rosenberger has led the development of a new rural health program, known as “RNURSING.” It’s an innovative education model designed to narrow the gap of health disparities, promote the health of patients and communities and increase the number of nurse practitioners in underserved rural areas.
“I’m both honored and humbled the American Association of Nurse Practitioners has acknowledged my lifelong, impactful contributions with its highest tribute,” she said.
The FAANP program was established in 2000 to recognize nurse practitioner leaders who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare through clinical practice, research, education or policy.
