Admission Requirements
Courses below must be included in the 57 credit hours of college-level coursework required to enroll in the traditional BSN program at UIC. The work must be completed by the end of the spring semester prior to enrolling. Prerequisite courses can be completed at any accredited college or university, including community colleges.
The UIC’s Office of Admissions offers individual pre-admission counseling appointments to transfer students who may have questions regarding the application and transferability of courses. Please call (312) 996-4350 to schedule an individual appointment .
If courses are taken outside of UIC, use Transferology to determine equivalencies. If you are unsure about whether or not a class is transferable, please e-mail Michael Behlke.

* UIC students can consult the UIC Catalog for approved courses in each category. Non-UIC students, please use Transferology.
** Upper Division Elective: Students may choose a course from one of these categories: physical sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, social sciences, fine arts, performing arts or humanities. Must transfer to UIC as a 200 level (or higher) course. Though the requirement may be completed after entry to the program, it is very highly recommended that students complete an upper division elective with other prerequisite courses prior to enrollment.
*** The number of elective hours will vary according to the number needed to total 57 credit hours after all prerequisite requirements have been met.
