The UIC College of Nursing is committed to attracting and maintaining a diverse student population, in part by offering financial support. Scholarships and fellowships are crucial to this goal and to help students graduate without excessive debt. For the 2018-19 academic year, the college was able to provide $375,000 in merit- and financial aid-based scholarships to 105 of our nearly 1,500 students.
Endowed chairs and professorships are the highest honor to bestow on faculty members. Endowments give us the resources to recruit and retain dynamic and accomplished faculty and to provide them the means to excel as educators, researchers and mentors to students and junior faculty. This creates a lasting ripple effect, since highly accomplished faculty attract top students, junior faculty, researchers, recognition and more resources.
New technologies and improved facilities foster creativity and support 21st century learning and discovery. They help us attract and retain the highest caliber researchers, faculty, staff and students, and they reflect our high standing in the nursing community. First-class facilities also provide an environment that fosters pride, comfort and productivity.
Unrestricted gifts to the College of Nursing’s Annual Fund provide the flexibility and resilience needed to meet unexpected and pressing challenges and opportunities. Gifts to the Annual Fund, always deeply appreciated, support a wide variety of student and faculty initiatives.
