Health Ethics Book Club: Trans Like Me

The final texts of this year's Health Ethics Book club include: CN Lester’s Trans Like Me: Conversations for All of Us (2017), with two podcast episodes and an article (links below). While book clubs do not make the change needed, folx attending these sessions have reported making substantive, meaningful changes in their teaching, policymaking, clinical practice, community engagement and interpersonal relationships.

This event will include up to 9.9 CNE credits (disclosure below).

NOTE: You do not need to have finished the book to attend. One of the goals is to get folks together to talk. If you've started thinking about this by having made investment in the text, then please come. This year the Health Ethics Book Club, A Public Syllabus is critically examining white feminism, especially within the context of nursing. You can find the current version of the living document at this link.

This activity will award 9.9 contact hours upon successful completion. Criteria for successful completion include reading the book Trans Like Me: Conversations for All of Us by CN Lester, the associated texts, attendance of the live book discussion, credit awarded commensurate with participation, and completion of the post activity online evaluation form. There is no conflict of interest for anyone in a position to control content of this activity. University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
