World Health Day 2017
The UIC College of Nursing held its Annual World Health Day celebration on Monday, April 3, 2017. This year's event theme was "Depression, Let's Talk." The keynote speaker, Dr. Frances Hughes, CEO of the International Council of Nurses, spoke on the global impact of mental health issues. Drs. Cynthia Handrup and Marsha Snyder, clinical faculty in the Department of Health Systems Science, UIC College of Nursing, followed with panel presentations focused on challenges and skills for healthcare providers.
The celebration concluded with the presentation of international travel awards from the Virginia M. Ohlson International Studies Endowment and the Carrol A. M. Smith Global Health Fund. For more information on the event, please contact the Global Health Leadership Office at ghlo@uic.edu .
