Maha Alotaibi holds a Master of Science in Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Saudi Arabia. Her research focuses on biobehavioral approaches to cardiovascular health, with a particular focus on the role of physical activity and social support in improving patient outcomes.

Maha served as a graduate assistant on the Heart Up! study, a clinical trial aimed at enhancing physical activity levels in patients with ischemic heart disease who report moderate to severe hopelessness. Her contributions to the study, led by Susan Dunn, PhD, include fidelity monitoring and data quality review, and they presented some of the findings in conferences and through publications.

Maha’s long-term goal is to lead interdisciplinary research that bridges clinical care, behavioral science and health policy. In addition to her research, she is actively involved in academic service and professional organizations, demonstrating her commitment to leadership and mentorship within the nursing community.
