Ayo Bodunde is a registered nurse with over a decade of experience in acute mental health settings. She earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Malcolm X College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Her research focuses on mental health and the experiences of gun-violence survivors and their informal caregivers. Ayo is committed to advancing scholarship and policy that expands access to trauma-informed resources for communities impacted by violence. Her long-term goal is to continue this work as a tenured professor, combining research, policy advocacy and the education of future health professionals.
