Anita Kiruba Jeyakumar is a professor and an internal quality assurance cell (IQAC) coordinator at the College of Nursing, Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, India. She also serves as nurse manager, operating room nursing department. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2004) and a Master of Science in Nursing (Medical-Surgical Nursing, 2011) from CMC.

Anita's academic and professional career spans more than 13 years of teaching and nearly two decades of clinical practice, specializing in perioperative nursing, patient safety, and quality assurance. She has played a pivotal role in customizing and implementing the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, developing the Perioperative Nursing Record, and leading the IQAC initiatives that enabled the College to secure an ‘A’ Grade accreditation by NAAC.

Anita’s research interests include patient safety in the operating room, surgical infection control, alternative pain management, curriculum development, and interprofessional collaboration. She has published extensively and contributed chapters on operating room practices and safety.

Her international recognitions include the Modale Fellowship (2016), Senior Training Fellowship (2022), and Redford Fellowship (2023) from the Kansas University Medical Center, USA. Prof. Anita’s long-term goal is to strengthen perioperative nursing education, foster evidence-based practice, and enhance patient safety standards globally."
