Dr. McNamara's scholarly and clinical work focuses on nurse practitioner role transition and practice readiness to meet the complex clinical, physical, social, and emotional needs of underserved communities. She studies the intersection of intimate partner violence, trauma, substance abuse, acute injury, and chronic disease. She is an experienced educator and nurse practitioner with a robust clinical practice.
