Sotaro Shimada is a full-time nursing PhD student and research assistant at the UIC College of Nursing. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Keio University and his Master of Healthcare Science from the University of Tokyo in Japan. His clinical practice at a university hospital inspired his commitment to becoming a researcher who bridges scientific inquiry and clinical practice. His research interests focus on chronic pain management, home care, nursing education and training, and the implementation of extended reality in healthcare.
