Simulation Research

Simulation professionals at UIC

At UIC Nursing, simulation is more than a teaching strategy—it is a space for discovery. Our simulation research advances the science of simulation-based education while exploring innovative approaches to teaching, learning, assessment, and healthcare practice.

Faculty and collaborators conduct research across the continuum of simulation, from the development and evaluation of new educational approaches and assessment methods to the study of learner outcomes, patient partnership, and the translation of simulation into practice.

The Schwartz Lab supports research and research-related scholarship through expert consultation tailored to each project’s goals. Our simulation experts partner with investigators across the research process, providing methodological guidance, simulation expertise, and practical support to strengthen project design, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination.

Through rigorous inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation, we aim to generate evidence that strengthens simulation methodology, informs nursing and healthcare education, and ultimately improves patient outcomes.
