Faculty to receive awards at MNRS annual conference

Patricia Hershberger to receive 2020 Distinguished Service Award; Kamal Eldeirawi to receive the Pediatric RIG’s Mid-Career Investigator Award Heading link

UIC Nursing associate professor Patricia Hershberger, PhD, RN, FNP, FAAN, was selected to receive the Midwest Nursing Research Society’s 2020 Distinguished Service Award. The award recognizes a leader who demonstrates dedicated service and commitment to MNRS and the field of nursing research.

Hershberger’s line of research focuses on the difficult decisions faced by patients who use reproductive technologies, and she is currently developing a tool to help families tell their children if they are the product of donor egg, sperm or embryos. Last year, she was selected as a fellow of the Institute of Medicine at Chicago.

The award will be presented virtually on Friday, April 3, at the MNRS annual conference, in which UIC Nursing is lead host . Please note: the conference will be held entirely online.

UIC Nursing Associate professor Kamal Eldeirawi, PhD, RN, will receive the Mid-Career Investigator Award from the Pediatric Research Interest Group. He will present via videoconference on Saturday, April 4, at 7:15 a.m.
