Biographical Sketch
The Illinois Graduate Nurses’ Association, later the Illinois State Association of Graduate Nurses, the Illinois State Nurses’ Association, and then the Illinois Nurses’ Association, was founded in 1901. The association’s initial aims were development of a Nurse Practice Act which would require nurse registration, and a Board of Nurse Examiners for the state.
Scope and Contents
1906 to 1986. The main part of the collection is the collection of newspaper clippings from a professional clipping service. Some early editions of the Quarterly and other miscellaneous items are also held. The printer’s blocks include many of the Association’s early leaders.
