UIC Information Technology offers system support for faculty, staff, and students, and their website is full of announcements, recent news, and upcoming events. You can also submit questions to IT, report a problem, or check on the outage status of various UIC IT services. The UIC Help Center houses a knowledge base of how-to information and guidance to help you find the answers you need and a Service Catalog, an organized collection of services in single location for you to browse and search for available services provided by Technology Solutions.

Blackboard
Blackboard is a web-based virtual learning environment and learning management system. The software features course management, customizable open architecture, and scalable design. For issues with Blackboard or to request assistance, please send an email to consult@uic.edu.
SharePoint
SharePoint is a document archive and houses the College of Nursing calendar. This calendar is used for standing committee meetings, upcoming college events, and university holidays. To request access to SharePoint, please send an email to con-sharepoint@helpdesk.uic.
Zoom
Zoom is the videoconferencing system for distance education classes and various faculty and staff meetings at the College of Nursing. For technical issues with Zoom, contact the College of Nursing IT staff at nurshelp@uic.edu.
UIC SAFE app
The UIC SAFE app is a free personal security tool that provides students, faculty, and staff with added safety on campus.
UIC ALERT
Faculty can subscribe to UIC ALERT on their cell phone to receive text message alerts. An immediate SMS text alert will be sent in case of a serious crime in progress, a weather emergency, or other urgent situation.
PEAR
PEAR is a closed webmail application available to anyone with a valid University of Illinois NetID. PEAR enables University of Illinois faculty, staff, and students to securely exchange information in cases where University policy dictates users cannot use conventional email (e.g., social security numbers, passwords, and confidential records). It has been determined that PEAR is FERPA compliant so FERPA data can be transmitted via PEAR. PEAR is not yet HIPAA compliant so HIPAA data should not be transmitted using PEAR.
FileMaker
FileMaker Pro is the College of Nursing’s computer system for a variety of information, such as student program plans and advising. If you need access to FileMaker, please contact the College of Nursing IT Help Desk at nurshelp@uic.edu.
