Dr. Nelson Chao is a Research Professor of Global Health at the Duke Global Health Institute. Dr. Chao is the founder of ICCARE (International Cancer Care and Research Excellence Foundation). His research interests have focused on clinical and immunological studies in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and in the development of innovative immunotherapies for blood cancers. He is also a leader in global oncology and has led studies on radiation injuries after nuclear accidents, as well as on HPV cervical cancer in Brazil, and Burkitt’s lymphoma in Tanzania.
