Purpose:

Raise awareness about moral distress and the role of ethics and palliative care consultations to minimize moral distress

Target Audience:

Staff Nurses, APRNs, and other healthcare professionals

Objectives:

  1. Identify moral distress, moral residue and moral injury;
  2. Give examples of how moral distress impacts healthcare; and
  3. Examine the role ethics consultation has in mitigating moral distress and improving patient care.
