Purpose:

Fetal Cardiology: Understanding fetal circulation, when to refer, and the delivery workflow.

Learning Objectives:

  • Differentiate between normal circulation and fetal circulation of the heart.
  • Identify which patients with congenital heart disease get referred to a tertiary Maternal fetal health center and explain the triage process.
  • Describe the education provided to patients and families regarding delivery planning and postnatal care.
  • Discuss the differences between acute and non-acute diagnoses.
  • Examine the Code Rainbow Workflow (high risk delivery transfers).
