Purpose:
Develop a better understanding of hematologic malignancies, specifically, the signs and symptoms, diagnosis, management, and outcomes of multiple myeloma.
Learning Objectives:
- Differentiate between hematologic and solid tumor malignancies.
- Discuss the general pathophysiology of multiple myeloma.
- Define risk factors for multiple myeloma.
- Describe the most common clinical manifestations of multiple myeloma.
- Describe the diagnostic workup of multiple myeloma.
- Discus the types of treatment available for multiple myeloma including stem cell transplantation.
- Define the long-term outcomes and management of multiple myeloma.
