Providing education, furthering research and improving nursing practice with faculty-led partnerships

Faculty Practice and Partnerships (FPP) at UIC College of Nursing builds upon the extensive expertise of our faculty and staff to support the tripartite mission of education, research and practice education. These faculty-led partnerships target vulnerable populations, including hospital and outpatient specialty providers, community-based organizations, government agencies, advocacy groups and social services providers, such as those supporting transitional housing. These efforts improve access to care, patient satisfaction, identification of social determinants and improved patient care outcomes.

Faculty have opportunities to serve as role models for students and pursue active practices to enhance their clinical preparation by integrating real-world experiences. One of our recent partnerships is on working a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant to launch a nurse-led mobile health van focusing on reproductive health screening for women in rural Illinois.
