Cardiac Risk Stratifications for Patients Undergoing Elective Surgery

This continuing nursing education course will address how to complete a cardiac evaluation for elective surgery by assessing patients and understanding the barriers to potential clearance.

Objectives include:

  • Define elective surgery.
  • Discuss the APP role in pre-operative risk stratification.
  • Review the newly updated ACC/AHA Perioperative Guidelines.
  • Discuss tools that are available to aid in decision making during pre-operative risk stratification evaluations.
