DNP, master’s programs ranked among the nation’s top 20 by U.S. News

The UIC College of Nursing’s doctor of nursing practice program and master’s degree program were again ranked among the top 20 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

Both were tied for No. 17 in their respective categories in the 2025 Best Graduate School rankings, which were released on April 8. Both were the highest ranked programs among those in Illinois.

Rankings for both DNP and master’s programs are based on an assessment of research activity, faculty resources, student excellence and qualitative ratings from experts.

The DNP program was tied with Rush University, University of Arizona, University of California-San Francisco and Vanderbilt University for the 17th spot.

The master’s program was tied with Rutgers University-Newark and the University of Maryland-Baltimore for No. 17.

The publication also ranked the college’s DNP specialty in Nurse-Midwifery. It was tied for 15th with Yale University, Rutgers University-Newark, Marquette University and Columbia University.
