UIC Nursing statement on Roe v. Wade decision

In the wake of the June 24 decision of the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, the UIC College of Nursing reaffirms its commitment to safe, skilled, accessible health care, including abortion. In our home state of Illinois, abortion care remains protected.

The direct impact of this decision on the health, reproductive rights, financial stability and overall well-being will be felt by millions, and disproportionately by women, people of color and those with limited financial means. We advocate for and with nurses and all clinicians who make it their life’s work to provide comprehensive care.

UIC Nursing is committed to advancing women’s health through outstanding education, research, clinical care and social responsibility.
