UIC Nursing’s Finnegan chosen for elite leadership program

Lorna Finnegan

Lorna Finnegan, PhD '93, MS '88, BSN '80, associate professor and executive associate dean at the UIC College of Nursing, was one of just 30 academic nurse leaders selected from across the nation to participate in the 2018 Wharton Executive Leadership Program this August, which is presented by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

The four-day program is taught by Wharton faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and designed to advance academic administrators to a higher level of leadership.

Program participants, chosen through a competitive review process, come from 19 states and represent an array of institution types, according to the AACN.

Finnegan was recently installed as president of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties for a two-year term.
