New Faculty Orientation

A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.

Welcome to the UIC College of Nursing!  We are thrilled that you have decided to join the UIC Nursing family.  Faculty members are responsible for delivering knowledge and training to students, and enhancing the student learning experience.  They play a central role in addressing the primary educational mission of UIC Nursing, which is to transform health, health care, and policy through knowledge generation and translation, and through education of future leaders from diverse backgrounds.

New Faculty Orientation is typically scheduled in mid-August prior to students returning for class, and it is hosted by Dr. Lauren Diegel-Vacek, Executive Associate Dean for UIC Nursing. Faculty will receive an email notification about time and place for the orientation presentation. New faculty are strongly encouraged to attend and learn about available resources and important contacts within the college, in order to promote faculty success and ensure a smooth transition into the college.
