Five alumni from the UIC College of Nursing, including assistant professor Eleanor Rivera, PhD ’18, were named to the Illinois Nurses Foundation list of “40 under 40 Emerging Nurse Leaders Award winners.”

The award was established in 2015 to highlight and celebrate young nurse leaders who are making an impact on health care and the nursing profession, as well as shaping the future of the profession in Illinois.

In addition to Rivera, UIC Nursing alumni on the  list include:

  • Dana Campbell, BSN ’15, Northwestern Memorial Hospital
  • Amanda Connoyer, DNP ’22, Springfield Clinic
  • Kelly Perez, DNP ‘20, MS ’15, Advocate Children’s Hospital
  • Roshni Shah, BSN ’18, Advocate

This year’s winners come from all over Illinois and work in various healthcare environments—public schools, university medical centers, colleges of nursing, children’s hospitals, ICUs, and more, according to INF.

An event honoring the award winners will occur Sept. 21, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Lisle/Naperville.
