Two faculty members who teach in the UIC Nursing School Nurse Certificate Program recently received high honors.
The program’s director, Robin Shannon, DNP ‘17, MS ’09, RN, NCSN, PHNA-BC, was inducted as a Fellow in the National Academy of School Nurses. Being named fellow is the most prestigious recognition that members can receive from the association and is considered a symbol of superior achievement in the school nursing profession and exceptional contribution to the association.
Eileen Moss, MS ’11, RN, PEL-CSN, NCSN, an adjunct faculty member, received the 2020 National Certified School Nurse of the Year award from the National Board for Certification of School Nurses. The award honors a national certified school nurse who has promoted certification as well as worked to enhance general competency in school nursing. Moss was recognized virtually last month.
