Distinguished Mentor of Faculty Award
The Distinguished Mentor of Faculty Award recognizes a faculty member who has made an outstanding contribution to faculty mentorship. All faculty, including emeriti faculty, are eligible. The award includes a cash gift and a commemorative plaque presented at an award ceremony, at which the awardee gives a presentation describing their philosophy and history of mentorship. The recipient may be required to serve a term on the faculty mentorship taskforce.

UIC Distinguished Professors
To recruit and recognize persons who have made a significant impact in their field through scholarship, creativity, and leadership. This program shall facilitate the recruitment of the most distinguished scholars in the world.

University Scholars Program
To identify outstanding members of the faculty and to provide each with a modest amount of funds annually for a defined number of years. The importance of these awards lies in the flexibility with which the funds may be spent. Recipients may use the funds at their discretion to enhance their scholarly work.

UIC Award for Excellence in Teaching
Colleges will establish their own criteria, required evidence, and internal processes for selecting the nominee(s). Peer assessment and internal or external recognition (e.g., prior teaching awards, program grants) should be given principal weight.

Piergiorgio L.E. Uslenghi Global Engagement Faculty Award / Emerging Leader Faculty Award
To recognize a UIC faculty member who has made outstanding contributions to supporting internationalization and global
engagement at UIC.

Julie & Mark Zerwic Diversity Award
The Julie & Mark Zerwic Diversity Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to support diversity and foster equity and inclusion within a department, college, university and/or the community. All UIC College of Nursing faculty, staff and students are eligible. Preference will be given to nominees whose work on diversity and inclusion has not been previously recognized through similar awards.

To encourage and reward excellence and innovation in all aspects of graduate mentoring.

UIC Faculty Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award
To recognize extraordinary contributions and commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion on our campus and/or the communities it serves.

To recognize extraordinary contributions and commitment to the advancement of community engagement on our campus with the communities it serves.

The Distinguished Researcher Award recognizes a UIC Nursing faculty member or alumnus who has made an outstanding contribution to nursing science and research. All alumni, current and former faculty, including emeriti faculty, are eligible. Preference will be given to nominees whose work on diversity and inclusion has not been previously recognized through similar awards.

Judith Lloyd Storfjell Distinguished Award for Scholarly Practice
The Judith Lloyd Storfjell Distinguished Award for Scholarly Practice recognizes a UIC College of Nursing faculty member who has made an outstanding contribution to nursing practice. UIC Nursing faculty or adjunct faculty are eligible for the award.

Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters Award (I-TEAM)
The I-TEAM Award recognizes a faculty team who has demonstrated excellence in interprofessional practice and education (IPE) through teaching innovation and the advancement of UIC’s IPE Mission. UIC faculty and instructional staff are eligible.

Daisy Award
The Daisy Award is a recognition program to celebrate and recognize nurses who go above and beyond for patients and families. UIC Nursing faculty are eligible.

UIC Proof of Concepts Awards
The UIC Proof of Concepts Awards advance innovative research and translate it into impactful business ventures. Applicants must be full-time UIC faculty, staff and researchers with dedicated research space and resources and have an invention disclosure on file with the Office of Technology Management. The program provides up to $200,000 per project over two phases to advance UIC innovations. Projects consist of a defined set of milestones that, when completed, help overcome hurdles to commercialization. The program is managed in partnership with the Office of Technology Management.

Teaching Recognition Program (TRP) Award
The TRP is UIC’s self-nominated, faculty-administered teaching award program.

American Nurses Association (ANA) National Awards Program
The ANA National Awards—bestowed biennally, in even-numbered years—identify those who exemplify the very best in the profession of nursing; honor their contributions to the nursing profession and the field of health care; and recognize the positive difference that they have made in the lives of their colleagues, patients, families and communities.

Silver Circle Award for Teaching Excellence
To honor UIC faculty members chosen by the senior class for their excellence in teaching undergraduate courses.
UIC Research and Scholarship Annual Award Competition
Celebrates the efforts and commitment of individuals who are making exceptional progress advancing knowledge in their areas of research and scholarship. These individuals inspire and promote continued excellence at UIC.
