Biographical Sketch
The Chicago Nurses’ Registry was a nursing placement service operated by the First District, Illinois State Nurses Association, for practical and professional nurses. The Professional Nurses Registry was founded in 1913 and the Practical Nurses Registry was founded in 1951. The Registry closed in 1980.
Scope and Contents
1932 to 1980. Correspondence, minutes, financial reports. Private duty professional registry and licensed practical nurse registry. Correspondence and reports of an hourly nursing service, established in the 1930s, are in the collection.
