UIC Nursing’s nurse anesthesia DNP program is not currently accredited. The program is undergoing a capability review with the Council on Accreditation for Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and is actively working toward achieving accreditation. While you can apply to the program, admission cannot be offered until accreditation is formally approved.
Please note: The nurse anesthesia DNP program is a largely face-to-face program offered ONLY at our Chicago campus. It is also a full cost recovery program, meaning it is not eligible for tuition waivers by University of Illinois employees.
Because the program is delivered largely in person, and because faculty arrange all clinical site placements for students, students must live within commuting distance of the UIC Nursing Chicago campus. That could be in Illinois, Wisconsin or Indiana. Students must also have a registered nursing license in the state in which their clinicals will be completed.
For international applicants: The DNP program does not meet F-1/J-1 student visa requirements. Applicants in other visa categories should check regulations for their specific visa type before applying.
