Cost & Financial Aid

Education is an investment in yourself and your future, and we know it's a big one.

For every student, costs are a major factor in making the decision about where to get that next degree or certificate. Here we provide links to "the horse's mouth," so to speak—the university-level webpages where tuition and fee information is kept up-to-date in real time. We want you to have the most accurate information at your fingertips to make your decision well informed.

Financial Aid

UIC’s Office of Student Financial Aid helps students understand financial need, apply for federal financial aid (based on the Free Application for Federal Aid, or FAFSA), and identify additional sources of aid such as grants and student employment.

Scholarships

UIC and the College of Nursing provide financial support to undergraduate and graduate students in the form of scholarships. Awards, which vary in levels and lengths, are made every academic year to new and continuing students, who are invited to apply each spring. Applications for UIC Nursing scholarships are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and leadership/service experience.

Graduate Assistantships

Teaching, research and graduate assistantships for graduate students are awarded by individual faculty members and academic departments. Stipends vary based on the percent of time appointed, with appointments between 25% and 67% eligible to receive a base tuition and service fee waiver. Assistantships do not always cover the nursing differential.
